The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) administers California's personal income tax and corporate franchise/income taxes. It is NOT a grant funder. FTB processes claims for business tax credits that are allocated or awarded by other California agencies — GO-Biz for the California Competes Tax Credit, the California Film Commission for film/TV credits — or that are entitlement-style claims filed on the annual return (R&D, New Employment Credit). No standalone grant programs originate at FTB; all program selection occurs at other agencies.
