Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is an international nonprofit foundation based in Oslo, Norway. It was launched in 2017 at the World Economic Forum in Davos to back vaccine and biologic countermeasure development for epidemic and pandemic threats, with support from public, private, and philanthropic donors including the Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and several national governments.

CEPI funds work through competitive open calls for proposals tied to a priority pathogen list that includes Chikungunya, coronaviruses, Disease X, filoviruses, Lassa fever, mpox, Nipah, and Rift Valley fever. Its awards are structured around equitable-access terms, and the portfolio has supported more than 75 vaccine candidates and 470 research partners worldwide.

That makes CEPI most relevant to teams with vaccine, biologics, or platform countermeasure programs that can move quickly against outbreak-risk pathogens. The organization also uses donor-backed financing tools such as IFFIm vaccine bonds, and larger awards require Investor Council approval.
