InvestKL was Malaysia's FDI promotion and facilitation agency for the Greater Kuala Lumpur region, responsible for attracting multinational corporations to set up regional headquarters and operational centres. It operated purely as a facilitation and advisory body — connecting investors with resources, talent, infrastructure, and government incentives administered by MIDA and other agencies. InvestKL never directly disbursed grants; all financial incentives (tax holidays, Pioneer Status, Investment Tax Allowance, Principal Hub incentives) flowed through MIDA under the Promotion of Investments Act 1986. Effective 15 March 2026, InvestKL ceased independent operations and was absorbed into MIDA as part of a government initiative to streamline Malaysia's investment promotion framework under a single entity.
