Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV) is the technology-transfer and commercialization office of Johns Hopkins University. It operates the FastForward incubator and administers translational grant programs — Discovery Awards and Cohen Translational Engineering Awards — restricted to Johns Hopkins-affiliated faculty, researchers, and spinouts. The Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is a separate University-Affiliated Research Center (UARC) performing contract R&D for DoD and NASA; it does not issue public grant programs.
