The Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) is a non-partisan, non-profit think tank headquartered in Arlington, VA, founded in October 2021 by Eric Schmidt as a successor to the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence. It is a subsidiary of The Eric & Wendy Schmidt Operating Foundation.

SCSP publishes policy recommendations on AI and emerging technologies, produces reports on US-China techno-economic competition (including a Tech Scorecard), and hosts events such as the AI+ Expo summit and Global Emerging Technology Summit. It does not operate grant programs with open calls — its occasional discretionary grants are partnership arrangements not advertised to external applicants.
