StartX is a Stanford-affiliated 501(c)(3) non-profit accelerator that supports Stanford-community entrepreneurs — alumni, students, faculty, and staff — with mentorship, peer communities, and partner perks. It takes no equity and charges no fees; founders receive $1.2M+ in free partner resources, access to 88 tenured Stanford professors, and community programs including StartX Med for medical ventures. StartX is NOT a grant funder and issues no cash awards. Stanford University and Stanford Health Care invested $200M to keep StartX self-sufficient in perpetuity. The separate Stanford-StartX Fund (co-investment vehicle) stopped making new investments in June 2019 and has no successor. Neither entity distributes grants or non-equity cash to startups.
