The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the UK's National Technical Authority for cyber security, operating as part of GCHQ. Established in 2016 by consolidating separate government components from MI5 and GCHQ, it exists to make the UK the safest place to live and work online. It provides guidance, incident response, and threat intelligence to businesses, public sector, and citizens. NCSC is not a grant-making body. Cash grants for UK cyber research flow through DASA, UKRI/EPSRC, ARIA, and DSIT.
