Louisiana Economic Development
Funds Louisiana growth through business attraction, job retention, investment incentives, and workforce training.
Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is the state's cabinet-level economic development agency, headed by a Secretary appointed by the Governor. LED funds business attraction, retention, and expansion in Louisiana through a portfolio of payroll grants, tax credits, property tax abatements, and in-kind workforce training.
Following Governor Landry's 2024–2025 tax reform, LED's incentive portfolio was substantially restructured: the Quality Jobs rebate and Enterprise Zone credit both sunset June 30, 2025, replaced by the new High-Impact Jobs Program (Act 372 of 2025). Tax credits for digital media, motion picture production, R&D, and angel investment were preserved, albeit with tighter caps and updated rules.
