The Grid Enhancing Technologies (GET) Grants Program is a AUD $30 million initiative under Australia's Rewiring the Nation umbrella, administered by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) through the DISR Business Grants Hub. The program runs from 2025-26 through 2028-29 and funds projects that deploy grid-enhancing technologies to strengthen Australia's electricity network, enabling existing infrastructure to transmit more renewable generation without requiring full network augmentation. The single selection round opened on 15 July 2025.

The program targets applicants that can demonstrate a practical capacity to improve electricity networks through the deployment of grid-enhancing technologies — a category that includes dynamic line rating, advanced power flow control, topology optimisation, and similar transmission-level tools. Eligible applicants include for-profit organisations, non-profits, and research bodies with an electricity network focus; individuals are not eligible. Applications are submitted via business.gov.au; enquiries can be directed to the Business Grants Hub at 13 28 46. Per-award sizes were not published on the DCCEEW program page scraped in May 2026; the $30 million total pool is spread across successful applicants selected in the single round.

As a single-round program under Rewiring the Nation, the GET Grants Program does not have recurring annual rounds — organisations that missed the July 2025 opening should check business.gov.au for current round status. The four-year program span (to 2028-29) means successful projects will have extended timelines to deploy technology and demonstrate network improvement outcomes. Applicants with existing relationships with Australian network service providers or prior grid modernisation project experience are best positioned to present credible delivery cases.

Deployment of grid-enhancing technologies that strengthen Australia's electricity network and increase the capacity of existing assets to carry additional renewable generation.
