PIPE Jornada Tecnológica Agro – Fase 1 (2026) is a themed call under FAPESP's PIPE (Programa de Pesquisa Inovativa em Pequenas Empresas) programme, directed at small businesses in São Paulo state developing technological innovations in agribusiness, food systems, and bioeconomy as defined in Annex 1 of the call. The total funding pool is R$ 25 million, supporting up to 47 projects at a maximum of R$ 500,000 each. This is a Fase 1 award, meaning grants cover a feasibility and proof-of-concept phase rather than a full development project. FAPESP — Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo — is Brazil's São Paulo state research foundation and among the largest sub-national research funders in Latin America.
Eligibility is restricted to for-profit small businesses with no more than 250 employees and a registered headquarters or active R&D unit in São Paulo state. The Responsible Researcher leading the project must be a shareholder or partner of the company and must reside in São Paulo during the grant period. Companies that have not yet formally incorporated may submit a pre-proposal provided they incorporate before the award is issued. The Responsible Researcher cannot have another PIPE application under review at the time of submission. Consultancy expenditures within the project budget are capped at R$ 50,000.
The call ran a pre-proposal stage with a deadline of 22 April 2026; companies invited to advance then submitted full proposals by 17 June 2026, with results expected from October 2026. Given the pre-proposal stage has already closed, the active pool consists of companies that passed the initial screening and were invited to submit full proposals. Applicants should review Annex 1 of the call document for the precise thematic scope and consult FAPESP's PIPE programme pages for reporting requirements and award conditions applicable to the Fase 1 instrument.
Technological innovation in agribusiness, food systems, and bioeconomy by São Paulo small businesses, as defined in Annex 1 of the 2026 Jornada Tecnológica Agro call.
