Business Oregon CHIPS Manufacturing and Research Grant
Funds Oregon semiconductor suppliers with up to $50,000 to cover costs of preparing a federal CHIPS Act application.
Eligibility · Oregon, United States
Business Oregon's CHIPS Manufacturing and Research Grant is a state grant program administered by Business Oregon (Oregon's state economic development agency) under the Governor's Strategic Reserve Fund (SRF). It provides one-time grants of up to $50,000 to private semiconductor firms in Oregon to help cover costs associated with preparing a federal CHIPS Act application, including third-party costs and professional services.
Grants are capped at $50,000 per company. The program does not require cost-share from the applicant. As of the verification date, the program is closed — no new applications are being accepted.
Eligibility is limited to private sector semiconductor firms (including suppliers to the semiconductor industry) with 500 full-time equivalent employees or fewer, headquartered or operating in Oregon. Only for-profit companies are eligible; nonprofits and universities are not mentioned as eligible applicants.
The application process was managed through Business Oregon directly. As the program is no longer accepting applications, the application portal is closed. Contact Shannon Carney (Advanced Manufacturing Program Coordinator) at Oregon.CHIPS@oregon.gov for any inquiries.
Key caveat: the program has wound down and no future call is indicated. The program served its purpose as a bridge to help smaller semiconductor suppliers fund the cost of federal CHIPS Act applications.
