The BC Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Grants program provides small project grants — up to $5,000 per organization — to registered non-profits and Indigenous governments in British Columbia undertaking activities that reduce systemic racism and hate incidents. The program is administered by the Province of British Columbia under the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Branch. For the FY2026/27 cycle, funded projects must start on or after April 1, 2026 and conclude by March 31, 2027. The application deadline for the FY2026/27 cycle was October 15, 2025 at 5:00 PM PST — that deadline has passed, and the next cycle's intake is expected in Autumn 2026.

Eligible applicants include non-profit societies incorporated under BC's Societies Act, federally registered charities, Indigenous governments, tribal and band councils, BIPOC-led non-profit societies, and non-profits serving BIPOC disability communities — all must maintain a BC address. Preference is given to applications from racialized and marginalized groups. Eligible expenses include equipment and venue rentals, technology costs, digital content creation, workshop materials, facilitator fees, food and beverages for participants, marketing, transportation assistance, and volunteer support costs. Capital projects, major equipment purchases, salaries unrelated to project delivery, and alcohol purchases are explicitly ineligible.

Applications are submitted through the BC government's online portal, with accessibility accommodations including ASL interpretation available on request. Because individual grants are capped at $5,000, the program suits organizations running focused, time-limited projects — workshops, community events, public education campaigns, or hate-incident response initiatives — rather than multi-year programs. Organizations planning to apply for the FY2027/28 cycle should monitor the Ministry's website for intake announcements in Autumn 2026 and prepare project budgets and organizational eligibility documentation in advance.

Small grants up to $5,000 for BC non-profits, Indigenous governments, and BIPOC-led organizations running projects that reduce systemic racism and hate incidents.
