Capacity Building Grants for Non-Land-Grant Colleges of Agriculture Program (NLGCA)
Funds certified Non-Land-Grant Colleges of Agriculture to build capacity for education, research and outreach in agriculture and renewable resources.
Only institutions certified by NIFA as a Non-Land-Grant College of Agriculture at the time of application may apply, and award recipients may subaward to otherwise ineligible organisations if needed for the project. About a third of applications get funded.
NLGCA funds cover competing for further federal and other grants, disseminating priority information to agriculture and renewable resources communities, and encouraging participation in priority activities. Money can go toward equipment and infrastructure purchases, faculty professional growth, and graduate assistantships.
