CRI Technology Impact Award
Pays tenure-track researchers up to $600,000 to build unproven cancer immunotherapy technology.
Applications run in two stages: a Letter of Intent, then an invited full proposal for candidates CRI selects by mid-February. Winning projects receive seed funding of up to $600,000 over two to four years, plus indirect costs of up to 10% of the award paid to the institution. Awards can only start on the first of a month, no earlier than July 1.
The award funds early-stage, not-yet-built technology concepts that could transform cancer immunotherapy: computational systems biology, advanced profiling technologies, real-time visualization of immune response, complex culture systems that model tumor-immune interaction, or new therapeutic technologies. It will not fund refinement of an existing technology or clinical trials themselves, though samples from an already-funded trial can support the work.
