Deep Tech Atelier runs this alongside its main deep tech conference in Riga, with support from Latvia's LIAA investment agency and the European Regional Development Fund, plus corporate partners including Plug and Play and Hello Tomorrow. The competition is open to early-stage, deep tech startups worldwide across sectors including defence, medtech, AI, ICT, biotech, materials science and energy. Applicants need real IP-rich science or engineering behind the venture, at least a lab-scale prototype (TRL 4, or TRL 3 for AI startups), and a team combining a scientist with an entrepreneur.
