Green Labs DK — Test Facility Grant

Funds test-facility development for energy technology infrastructure and industrial pilots.

Green Labs DK is a dedicated grant programme administered by the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) under EUDP — Denmark's statutory Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme. Unlike the EUDP Main programme, which funds project activities such as research and field demonstrations, Green Labs DK specifically finances the physical infrastructure for large-scale energy technology testing: buildings, equipment, and operational capacity for test facilities where new energy technologies can be demonstrated at scale. The programme is distinct from EUDP Main and publishes separate calls. EUDP's governing board has established a strategy covering both EUDP and Green Labs DK through 2030 in support of Denmark's 70% CO2 reduction target.

Foreign actors are explicitly eligible — the programme is designed to attract both Danish and international investment into Danish test-infrastructure capacity. Eligible applicants include companies, universities, and research organisations; applications are submitted in Danish or English depending on award size, and for grants above DKK 3 million English submission is standard across EUDP programmes. Award sizes and co-financing requirements specific to Green Labs DK are not publicly documented separately from the EUDP Main figures (DKK 2–15 million typical at 40–60% EUDP share), but infrastructure grants of this type are typically larger than standard project grants. Any facility funded must be located in Denmark.

Prospective applicants should monitor the EUDP website (eudp.dk) for call announcements, as Green Labs DK calls run on a schedule separate from the EUDP Main spring and autumn rounds. Evaluation follows the standard EUDP eight-criteria rubric, which includes innovation level, climate policy objectives, and commercialisation potential. The Danish Energy Agency secretariat in Esbjerg is the point of contact for programme queries.
