GRO — Inspiring Science and Technology Courses
Funds hands-on science and technology education projects in Danish schools addressing climate and sustainability.
GRO — Inspiring Science and Technology Courses 2026 is a grant programme administered by the Villum Foundation under its Children, Youth and Science area in Denmark. The programme funds investigative, real-world science and technology education projects in Danish primary and secondary schools. With a total budget of DKK 5 million for the 2026 round, the programme opened for submissions on 2 March 2026 with no published closing deadline.
Individual grants range from DKK 25,000 to DKK 65,000 per project. Priority is given to projects addressing climate education, creative problem-solving, and the UN sustainable development goals through hands-on science and technology work. Applications are submitted through the Villum Foundation's online portal. Explicit eligibility criteria are not published on the call page, but the programme's scope is directed at schools and educators working within Danish primary and secondary education.
Organisations considering applying should contact Senior Advisers Marianne Lomholt (mlo@villumfonden.dk) or Torben Ingerslev Roug (tir@villumfonden.dk) before submitting to confirm eligibility. Given the programme's emphasis on investigative, student-facing projects, the strongest applications will demonstrate a clear classroom methodology, alignment with sustainability goals, and measurable impact on students' engagement with science and technology subjects.
