Villum Foundation's Other Projects — Culture and Society programme accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the year with no fixed deadline. The programme funds significant cultural initiatives that enrich and delight the general public, with a particular focus on projects that highlight or innovate daylight and fresh air, contribute to healthier environments, and integrate recycling and sustainability aspects into renovation or construction activities. Pilot or experimental projects with a clearly specified duration and an innovative approach are especially welcomed. Grant amounts vary by project and are not published in advance.

Eligible applicants are organisations; individual applicants are not accepted. Organisations based outside Denmark must obtain prior approval from the foundation before submitting a formal application. The foundation also offers supplementary grants for innovative sustainability implementations such as Life Cycle Assessments. Projects are expected to address at least some of the following themes: alternatives to new construction, COâ‚‚ footprint reduction, material reuse potential, climate resilience, and biodiversity impact.

Applicants interested in this programme should reach out to Head of Programme Signe Staubo Sørensen (sss@villumfonden.dk, +45 24 44 10 50) to discuss project fit before applying, particularly given that award sizes are not advertised. Non-Danish organisations must factor in the prior-approval step into their timelines. The most competitive applications will present a concrete cultural purpose, a defined public benefit, and a substantive sustainability dimension tied to the built environment or natural systems.
