ERC Public Engagement with Research Award
Awards ERC grant holders up to EUR 10,000 for outstanding public engagement with their ERC-funded research.
Judges weigh two criteria. Strategy and implementation covers how well the public engagement approach fits its own objectives and audience -- the tools, channels and resources used -- and rewards novelty or creativity in the approach. Impact looks for quantitative and qualitative evidence that the activity met its own public engagement goals, including evidence that the research team or the public…
This prize is only open to Principal Investigators on an ERC frontier-research project that's ongoing or ended on or after 31 December 2023. It rewards public engagement work — citizen science, public outreach, or consultation and exchange with citizen groups — built around that ERC-funded research, judging both the strategy behind the activity and its demonstrated impact.
