Capacity building for Ukrainian regional policy stakeholders
Funds training that builds Ukrainian regional officials' capacity to take part in EU cohesion policy and the accession process.
Beyond the training itself, the intended outcome reaches further: officials are meant to grow beyond regional matters, gaining skills for Ukraine's own national policy-making process and for cooperation with other countries on regional and urban development. This call funds capacity-building work for Ukrainian regional decision-makers — deputy heads of oblast administrations in charge of EU integration and their staff, plus associations of subnational authorities — so they can take an active role in Ukraine's EU accession and future implementation of EU cohesion policy. The training must cover the current state of play, thematic priorities, and rules of EU cohesion policy, tied to Chapter 22 of the accession negotiations.
