Autocratic governance, armed conflict and geopolitical shifts can erode legal protections, civic space and access to rights. Their effects are often compounded by age, gender, sex, sexual orientation, minority or migratory status. Study how autocracy, armed conflict and geopolitical shifts affect women, LGBTIQ people, minorities, people with disabilities, children or older people. Examine legal rollbacks, targeted discrimination, political violence, shrinking civic space, digital surveillance, algorithmic discrimination, online disinformation, sexual and reproductive health access, gender-based violence and hate-motivated violence. Combine SSH with computer science and data analytics, using data-driven indicators and tools across grassroots, national, European and geopolitical levels.
