Running an open-call scheme that gives researchers and research teams from EU Member States and Associated Countries transnational and virtual access to nuclear research infrastructure, at no cost to the researcher. The consortium organises the calls, supports experiment design and safety analysis, and passes funding through to facility operators as grants to third parties, capped at €300,000 each. In scope: infrastructure for nuclear safety, security, safeguards, radioactive waste management and radiation protection. Fusion research is excluded — it is funded through a separate European Partnership.
