MESRI-BMBF German-French Joint Call For Proposals on Artificial Intelligence

Funds joint French-German AI research projects worth up to EUR 800,000 each.

The call offers two instruments: four-year projects between French and German research institutions to strengthen bilateral AI research ties, and three-year applied-AI projects that can add industrial partners. Each agency commits EUR 5 million to the call, with type 1 projects budgeted EUR 300k-400k and type 2 projects EUR 600k-800k; joint proposals go to both the ANR and BMBF submission sites.

France's ANR and Germany's BMBF jointly fund bilateral AI research collaborations across mobility and transport, logistics, energy, environment, smart industry, smart health, robotics and society. Applicants must be French and German higher-education or research institutions, and three-year projects can also include industrial partners for applied AI R&D.
