Preparing the Advancement of the state of the art of submarine cable infrastructures (CSA)
Funds one coordination project up to EUR 2.1 million to build Europe's research roadmap for submarine cable technology, resilience and security.
A legal entity from an eligible country that is directly or indirectly controlled by a non-eligible country or entity cannot take part in this action at all; there is no guarantee process here to override that exclusion. The roadmap this CSA produces is meant to feed directly into the work of named EU bodies: the European Submarine Cable Expert Group, the NIS 2 Coordination Group and the CER Group…
The Commission wants a Coordination and Support Action that defines the critical hardware and software components of future submarine cable systems — repeaters, landing stations, control centres, underwater sensor networks and cable cybersecurity — and produces a research and innovation roadmap (SRIA) for the sector. It is particularly interested in resilience against natural hazards and deliberate sabotage, and in secondary uses of cable infrastructure such as early-warning sensing.
