Strengthening the fabless Start-up and SME ecosystem in Europe (CSA)
Funds one coordination project up to EUR 1 million to build a support network and information hub for Europe's fabless semiconductor start-ups and SMEs.
Fabless companies, which design chips but outsource manufacturing, generate roughly half of global chip revenue, yet Europe's share of that market is under 1%, and this Coordination and Support Action exists to help close that gap. Rather than funding chip design or manufacturing directly, the money pays for a coordination and knowledge hub: standing up a network or association that speaks for Eur…
The Commission wants a Coordination and Support Action that builds a sustainable network representing European fabless semiconductor start-ups and SMEs, gives them a one-stop information platform on funding and policy, and raises their visibility with foundries, EDA vendors, design houses and policymakers. It expects the action to coordinate with the Chips for Europe Initiative, the Chips Joint Undertaking and the network of European Semiconductor Competence Centres.
