Exploration and data modelling of raw materials

Funds around three projects, each worth EUR 5 to 7 million, to find new European deposits of critical raw materials using AI-driven geological modelling.

ClosedEuropean CommissionEU

This is a single-stage Research and Innovation Action, evaluated with the programme's standard criteria, weighting, thresholds and post-decision timeline rather than a topic-specific scoring table. Costs are funded as a lump sum rather than reimbursed against actual spending. Because proposals must include a business case and exploitation strategy, the normal Part B page limit is extended by three…

The Commission wants research that combines geological, geophysical and geochemical data with AI and machine learning to build 3D models predicting where critical raw material deposits sit in the EU. Proposals should support the national exploration programmes required under the Critical Raw Materials Act.
