The Commission wants prototypes of an automated, AI-powered, software-defined energy system that uses generative AI for local grid optimisation, flexibility identification, scenario simulation and forecasting, drawing on the EU’s AI Factories. It wants proposals to demonstrate AI-powered energy services and smart grid functionalities across at least three EU Member States or Associated Countries.
