ClosedEuropean CommissionEU

Nutrition in emergency situations - Ready-to-use Supplementary Food (RUSF) and Ready-to-use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) is a Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action from the European Commission, worth EUR 4 million, that funds AU-EU research consortia developing locally-produced therapeutic and supplementary foods for child malnutrition in Africa. It is paid as a lump sum under the Commission's …

This call wants proposals that develop locally-sourced, WHO-certifiable alternatives to imported Ready-to-use Therapeutic and Supplementary Foods, using local protein, micronutrient and fatty-acid sources so African countries can manufacture them domestically rather than import them. Work should cut the carbon footprint and cost of getting these products to children in fragile or conflict-affected areas.
