This EIC Pathfinder Challenge funds research into new advanced materials for miniaturised energy-harvesting modules — for example miniaturised solar cells, thermoelectric generators, or piezoelectric and electromagnetic-wave harvesting devices — that reduce battery dependence in wireless sensors and IoT systems. Applicants must show a route from new materials to an integrated, energetically autonomous device reaching Technology Readiness Level 4. Target application fields include point-of-care diagnostics, smart cities, agriculture, automotive, wearables and industrial monitoring.
