Biotechnology for Healthy Ageing
Funds research consortia developing biotechnology-based interventions, biomarkers or non-animal test methods that target the root causes of age-related disease.

This EIC Pathfinder Challenge funds proof-of-concept research into one of three areas: a biotechnology or pharmaceutical intervention that prevents, delays or reverses a specific age-related disease; a biomarker-based tool to guide the safe use of ageing interventions; or a New Approach Methodology that models ageing without relying on animal testing. Proposals must demonstrate their concept in a vertebrate animal model of ageing or an equivalent validated system, and set out a plan for exploitation covering ethics, economics and regulatory approval.
