Selection into the cohort weighs problem clarity, market conviction, technical ambition, and how well a proposal lines up with WEBMOB's own engineering strengths, reviewed by WEBMOB's engineering team alongside an invited panel from Japan's investor and deep-tech scene -- the same engineers who go on to build the winner's product. The challenge selects 15 Japan-based founders building DeepTech or AI ventures -- especially healthcare AI, biotech, robotics, enterprise AI, industrial AI, climate tech, fintech, edtech or medtech -- from seed to early Series A, including funded pre-seed. Bilingual English and Japanese founders are strongly preferred.
