Ecosistemi culturali al Sud Italia is a grant program co-funded by Fondazione CDP — the philanthropic arm of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti — and Intesa Sanpaolo, targeting cultural and social activation of significant public real estate assets in Southern Italian municipalities. The 2025/2026 edition carries a total budget of €1 million. Individual project grants range from €150,000 to €350,000, and projects must run for 24 to 36 months. Eligible municipalities are limited to those with populations between 5,000 and 100,000 inhabitants across eight eligible southern regions: Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicilia, Sardegna, Abruzzo, and Molise — with Abruzzo and Molise added as new regions for this edition. The application window ran from 31 October 2025 to 2 February 2026 and is now closed.

Funded projects must be anchored to a specific public building or site (immobile pubblico) of significant local historical, artistic, or social importance, and must activate social, cultural, artistic, or naturalistic programming that generates community impact. Projects are also expected to create socio-occupational integration pathways for vulnerable persons. A key structural condition is that the public real estate asset must remain available for program activities for at least 10 years following project completion. Applications must come from a partnership of at least three entities: the lead applicant (a third-sector organization), at least one additional third-sector entity, and the public body that owns the real estate.

Proposals require a sustainable economic structure and must demonstrate the capacity for long-term operation after the grant period. The program is administered through the same just.impacta.app portal used for other Fondazione CDP calls. Given that this edition is now closed, organizations in eligible Southern Italian regions should track Fondazione CDP's bandi page for future cycles; the prior 2024 edition had a pool of €2 million, indicating year-to-year variation in total funding available.

Cultural and social activation of significant public real estate assets in Southern Italian municipalities (5,000–100,000 inhabitants) by third-sector-led consortia, generating community, artistic, and socio-occupational impact.
