JETRO administers the Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation large demonstration subsidy as a grant for Japan-based private businesses and organizations implementing projects in ASEAN. The call funded projects in three types: co-creation that leads to Japanese innovation, overseas deployment of advanced Japanese technology, and supply-chain resilience.
The grant range was JPY 500,000,000 to JPY 4,000,000,000 across each project type. Subsidy rates were one-half for non-SMEs and two-thirds for SMEs, with payment generally made after the project and subsidy amount were finalized. Projects could run for three years, with the longest permitted completion date stated as 31 March 2028.
Applicants needed to be registered in Japan, have a base and legal personality in Japan, and show business substance in Japan. The captured source says the public call closed at 15:00 JST on 27 June 2024, so this row is closed rather than open.
