Macquarie Community Resilience Prize
Awards up to $250,000 to teams building climate-resilient jobs and infrastructure.
Up to 10 winning teams share a prize pool of as much as $1,000,000, with individual awards indicatively between $50,000 and $250,000. Beyond the money, each winner gets a tailored needs assessment, workshops, executive coaching and mentorship matched with Macquarie Group employees over a support program running from June through December 2026.
Macquarie Group and MIT Solve back technology-enabled solutions that build climate resilience and create skilled jobs in Brazil, Australia and the Pacific Islands. On the resilience side, priorities include hardening infrastructure for electrical, water and other technical systems, cutting hazard risk from wildfires, flooding, drought and extreme heat, and strengthening climate-adapted agriculture and food systems that protect and restore natural ecosystems. On the workforce side, priorities include training and upskilling workers in trades that build infrastructure resilience, giving existing workers tools to add climate-resilience work to their roles, and creating new funding or employment models that support long-term resilience and transition work. Proposals that combine ancestral or Indigenous knowledge with new technology are especially welcome.
