WRF Technology Commercialization Grants — Phase 1
Funds Washington state research institutions up to $100,000 to commercialize new technology.
Eligible investigators submit a rolling pre-proposal, reviewed by WRF staff within three weeks; a successful one is invited to submit a full Phase 1 application for $10,000 to $100,000 of direct costs, plus up to 10% more for indirect costs, reviewed within six weeks. WRF backs translational research at Washington state nonprofit research institutions that's heading toward a commercial product, especially work that still needs technical development, evaluation or de-risking before it can attract outside investment. It isn't meant for early discovery-stage or purely basic research, and looks for a credible path to licensing or startup formation.
