2026 Pump Priming Call
Funds £10k, up-to-12-month interdisciplinary Edge AI research projects at Newcastle's hub.
Grants fund projects lasting up to 12 months at a fixed £10k. Applications must be submitted by email within a narrow window, opening 1 May 2026 and closing 1 June 2026, with full details published on the call's own page.
The call funds non-technical research into Edge AI, drawing in social sciences, medical sciences and related disciplines to look at what deploying AI on edge devices means socially, ethically and in practice. It invites proposals under three strands: technology adoption and acceptance, benefits realisation and technology assessment, and responsible innovation. The Hub especially wants interdisciplinary collaborations spanning academia, industry, the public sector and civil society.
