Coupling, Energetics, and Dynamics of Atmospheric Regions
Funds research on the upper atmosphere β from the middle atmosphere through the thermosphere and ionosphere into the exosphere.
CEDAR studies the part of the atmosphere that starts where weather ends. It funds work on the behaviour of atmospheric regions from the middle atmosphere upward through the thermosphere and ionosphere and out into the exosphere, looking at coupling, energetics, chemistry and dynamics at regional and global scale.
The forcing comes from both directions and the programme says so. Some upper-atmosphβ¦
Upper-atmosphere research from the middle atmosphere through the thermosphere and ionosphere into the exosphere β coupling, energetics, chemistry and dynamics at regional and global scale, driven from below by lower-atmosphere perturbations and from above by solar radiation and particle input. Earth and other planets, by observation, theory and modelling.
