The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Award supports early-career scientists conducting CF-relevant research in a mentored postdoctoral setting. The fellowship provides a stipend of $75,000 in Year 1 and $76,000 in Year 2, with no indirect costs. The two-year duration is consistent with standard postdoctoral fellowship terms at major disease foundations. Both the standard track and the Path to a Cure (PTAC) parallel track carry identical stipend levels, differing only in the scientific focus area required.

Applications are accepted twice per year, with deadlines in May and December. Both tracks are reviewed by the Research and Research Training (RRT) Committee or, for PTAC-aligned proposals, the Path to a Cure (PTP) Committee. Review follows NIH-modeled peer standards, with a notification timeline of four to eight months from submission. All applications are processed through the CFF grants portal at awards.cff.org.

Eligibility is open to postdoctoral researchers at accredited academic or research institutions, sponsored by a faculty mentor with an active CF research program. The award is intended to develop the next generation of independent CF investigators, and applicants are expected to articulate a training plan alongside the scientific aims. The standard track accepts proposals across basic, translational, and applied CF science, while the PTAC track requires research directly addressing CF gene repair and replacement strategies aligned with the Foundation's Path to a Cure initiative.
