OpenOffice of Clean Energy DemonstrationsUnited States

The Carbon Capture Demonstration Projects Program, run by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), pays for large demonstrations that capture carbon dioxide at power plants and big industrial sites and then move and store it. The goal is to show big improvements in how well capture works, what it costs, and how clean it is for the power and industrial sectors. The program was funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and OCED issued a $1.3 billion Point-Source Carbon Capture funding announcement in December 2024. For-profit power and industrial companies are the main applicants, usually with technology and engineering partners. Awards are cooperative agreements with non-federal cost share, and projects move from front-end design through construction and operation. The most recent application window has closed, so this page records the program for reference rather than as an open call.

Integrated carbon capture, transport, and storage at coal and gas power plants and major industrial sources such as cement, steel, and chemicals.
