Funds non-drug research that removes a barrier to diagnosing, monitoring or accurately predicting the course of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
A treatment can't help someone who's never diagnosed, or whose disease is being tracked with a tool too crude to catch what matters. This award funds fixing that — the diagnosis and monitoring side of Alzheimer's, not the treatment.

Non-incremental, solutions-oriented research reducing or removing barriers to diagnosing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, to meaningful disease monitoring, or to accurate prognosis, with clinical research allowed but clinical trials and animal research prohibited, preliminary data required, and community collaboration required for research prospectively enrolling human subjects.
