The Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC) Physical Infrastructure Grant supports Missouri nonprofit organizations and research institutions in providing below-market-rate physical workspace for entrepreneurs. Established as a pilot in 2023 and running as a full competitive program since 2024, the grant funds co-working areas, private offices, meeting rooms, high-speed internet, and specialized sector facilities such as wet labs for biotech and greenhouses for agtech. MTC is a public-private partnership created by the Missouri General Assembly under RSMo Ch. 348 to promote technology-based entrepreneurship statewide.
Eligible applicants are Missouri-based public or private nonprofit research institutions, including higher education institutions, and nonprofit entrepreneurial support organizations. For-profit entities cannot apply. The 2026 grant period begins September 1, 2026 and applicants may propose 1-year (through August 2027), 2-year (through August 2028), or 3-year (through August 2029) operational plans. Award amounts per organization are not published, but MTC has selected seven awardees in each of the 2024 and 2025 cycles. Past awardees include BioSTL, KC Digital Drive, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, 39 North AgTech Innovation District, and Missouri Innovation Center.
The 2026 application window opened April 15 and closed May 22, 2026; award notifications are expected in late July or early August 2026. Applications are submitted through the Good Grants portal at missouritechnology.grantplatform.com. Organizations building or maintaining entrepreneurial hubs in underserved Missouri regions — particularly those offering sector-specific lab capacity — are the strongest fit for this program.
