The NIMHD Parent STTR Grant is the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities route into the NIH parent STTR R41/R42 notice. The current opportunity number is PA-27-102, posted May 28, 2026, and the Simpler.Grants.gov record lists it as a grant opportunity closing April 5, 2027.

STTR is close to SBIR but has a different project structure. The source says the STTR program helps United States small business concerns that partner with a nonprofit research institution bring scientific innovations to the marketplace. NIMHD's own small-business page says only small businesses located and operating in the United States may apply for SBIR/STTR funding, with no more than 500 employees including affiliates.

NIMHD publishes budget guidance of $306,872 for Phase I and $2,045,816 for Phase II. This row uses the Phase II figure as the maximum because the active parent notice covers both R41 and R42, and it leaves pool, expected awards, and minimum amount blank because the Simpler record shows no numeric values for those fields.

Applications use NIH standard receipt dates. NIH SEED states that standard application due dates are September 5, January 5, and April 5, with dates moved when they fall on weekends or federal holidays. The Simpler.Grants.gov record remains the source for the active opportunity close date.

The main caveat is applicant structure. The small business is the applicant path, but STTR expects a nonprofit research institution partner, so teams that do not need that partner should usually use SBIR instead.

Feasibility studies and later R&D for commercial products where a United States small business partners with a nonprofit research institution, with NIMHD fit around minority health and health disparities.
