Arts and Humanities Fellows Program
Funds Texas A&M arts and humanities scholars for sustained research and creative scholarship development.
The Arts and Humanities Fellows Program is an initiative of the Texas A&M University Division of Research that recognizes and stimulates distinguished creative and scholarly work in the humanities and the arts. The program seeks to foster interactions among humanities and arts faculty within Texas A&M and with national and international counterparts. Teaching-related activities, including textbook writing and curriculum development, are explicitly excluded from eligible work.
Fellows receive a three-year grant of $15,000 total per fellowship, with no restrictions on how the funds may be used. Eligibility is limited to Texas A&M University faculty who are actively engaged in humanities scholarship or creative arts. The program is internal to TAMU only; faculty at branch campuses or affiliated TAMUS institutions are not covered under this mechanism. Application deadlines are not published on the program page; prospective applicants must contact the Division of Research directly at (979) 845-8585.
Competitive applicants will demonstrate a strong record of distinguished creative or scholarly output in the humanities or arts. Because award amounts are modest relative to STEM grants, the fellowship functions primarily as recognition and unrestricted research support rather than a major project fund. Applicants should prepare a clear statement of their scholarly or creative agenda, emphasizing work that advances humanistic inquiry or artistic practice rather than pedagogical products or curriculum. Contact with the Division of Research early in the process is advisable given the absence of published deadlines.
Recognizes and supports distinguished humanities scholarship and creative arts by TAMU faculty; teaching-related activities such as textbooks and curriculum development are explicitly excluded.
