The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Grant, administered by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), provides equipment funding to Texas public educational institutions to support Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in high-demand occupations. The FY2026–27 biennium carries a total allocation of $30 million, covering both fiscal years combined. Individual awards range from $40,000 to $350,000 per project. Applications are submitted through the TWC Procurement Portal in response to a formal Request for Applications (RFA) issued for each fiscal year.

Eligible applicants are Texas public junior colleges, state colleges, technical colleges, and the Windham School District. Independent school districts (ISDs) and open-enrollment charter schools may also apply but must partner with a qualifying public college to be eligible. Equipment funded must be for CTE programs that lead directly to a license, certification, or degree in a Board-targeted or Governor-designated high-demand occupation. For-profit entities, nonprofits, and private colleges cannot apply. The grant instrument is equipment acquisition — operating costs and instruction are not fundable through JET.

Competitive proposals connect the requested equipment directly to a specific high-demand occupation classification, demonstrate current program enrollment and completion data, and document employer demand in the region served. Institutions that can show the equipment fills a gap blocking students from meeting licensure or certification requirements typically score highest. Because the $30 million biennial pool is divided across FY26 and FY27 separately, applicants should monitor TWC Procurement Portal notices for each year's specific RFA deadline and per-cycle allocation.

Equipment grants of $40,000–$350,000 for Texas public colleges and partnering schools to establish or expand CTE programs aligned with high-demand licensed and credentialed occupations.
