Low-Cost Chip-Scale Atomic Clock (LC CSAC)
Funds one or more for-profit teams building a low-cost, battery-powered chip-scale atomic clock for the Army.
GPS can be jammed or denied, and when it is, the Army still needs precise timing for navigation, communications and sensor synchronisation. This notice funds building a clock that keeps that timing without GPS, cheaply enough to put in a lot of places at once.
The specific target is exact: a battery-powered atomic clock matching or beating the size, weight, power and performance of today's commerβ¦
Design, manufacture and delivery of a battery-powered, chip-scale atomic clock matching or bettering commercial size, weight, power and performance, at a high-volume unit price under $300, for Army positioning, navigation and timing needs in GPS-denied environments. Proposals from for-profit firms, alone or as a for-profit-led consortium.
