Wellcome Snakebite Innovation Prize
Funds a £6.25 million challenge prize for innovations that improve snakebite outcomes worldwide.
The prize is co-designed and delivered by Challenge Works on Wellcome's behalf, following a staged Prize Timeline from open entries through later selection rounds; regional partners including Appropedia, MRFRI, Villgro Philippines and Villgro Africa support entrants in their regions. The prize is open to innovators working on snakebite in high-burden settings, whether that means strengthening how communities respond, speeding up access to the right care, or making treatment delivery work better across the patient journey. It's for technological, social and system-level solutions, not for antivenom science itself.
