ADIO Startup Matching Fund
Provides equity co-investment matching for Abu Dhabi-based startups with institutional lead capital.
The ADIO Startup Matching Fund is Abu Dhabi Investment Office's dirham-for-dirham co-investment route for Abu Dhabi-based startups. It belongs to the Ghadan-era venture stack and is currently paused, with the fund's home at ADIO now ambiguous after the parent ventures fund moved to ADQ. The instrument is equity co-investment, not a grant. ADIO matches a committed lead VC, with seed rounds eligible for up to AED 10M of match and Series A rounds up to AED 50M. For every AED 1 from the lead investor, ADIO can invest AED 1 up to those caps. The program expects the company to be wholly based in Abu Dhabi, and the documentation is available in English and Arabic. That makes the fund a fit for startups that already have institutional lead capital and a clear local operating footprint. The practical gate is a ready-made VC-backed round, so companies without a lead investor or without a full Abu Dhabi base are outside its core use case.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
