Energy Communities (Energiegemeinschaften)
Funds Austrian community energy initiatives to strengthen membership and improve smart-grid flexibility.
Energiegemeinschaften 2025 supports already-operating Austrian Energy Communities (GEA — Gemeinschaftliche Erzeugungsanlagen, EEG — Erneuerbaren-Energie-Gemeinschaften, and BEG — Bürgerenergiegemeinschaften) with funding for two activity streams: membership expansion and awareness measures; and digitalization, automation, forecasting, and smart-grid flexibility improvements. Funding covers consulting services and supporting acquisitions. Allocation follows first-come-first-served order by submission date — early budget exhaustion may trigger early closure. Over 6,500 renewable-energy and citizen-energy communities operated in Austria at end 2025. The 2026 active window runs 2026-01-20 to 2026-07-16 with a total budget of €5.3 million.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
