Funds Austrian demonstration regions advancing renewable-energy transition across public life.
Vorzeigeregion Energie was Klimafonds' lighthouse R&D + demonstration program for proving 100% renewable energy systems at scale in Austrian model regions. The 2017 call selected three model regions: Green Energy Lab, NEFI (New Energy for Industry), and WIVA P&G (Wasserstoffinitiative Wärme, Industrie, Verkehr). The 2021 call (min €23M, target €40M with co-funding) ran through Stage 2 deadline 2022-03-04. Applications were submitted via FFG eCall (ecall.ffg.at); investment subsidies flowed through KPC under the UFI (Umweltförderung im Inland) framework. No 2024/2025/2026 call has appeared — the program is currently between cycles.
