Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator is the Department of Defence Australia's current mission-led accelerator. It exists to accelerate asymmetric capabilities into the Australian Defence Force and is built around urgent Defence priority needs. The program is framed around missions, innovation incubation, and emerging and disruptive technologies rather than a generic open call. The record places the funding band from AUD 330,000 to AUD 33 million, with Australian registration and operations required, individuals excluded, and consortia required. Dual-use is a hard requirement, which makes the route suitable for technologies that can serve military needs without losing their commercial or industrial relevance. ASCA publishes opportunities through its own site and AusTender, and the opportunities page makes clear that unsolicited proposals are not accepted. The strongest applications are tightly matched to a named mission, a challenge statement, or a pitch-day or request-for-information process. Innovation Incubation is the clearest pathway for teams that need to adapt, test, or acquire new or commercial technology for military use, and the recent examples range from command and control to undersea navigation and electronic warfare. In practice, ASCA rewards speed, specificity, and a credible route from prototype to operational use.
